So, how do you release the past?
Here are 5 ways to heal your old wounds and move on to a brighter future.
1. Start with Forgiveness
Through forgiveness you can heal yourself from the past.
Forgive yourself for your mistakes that you made and forgive those who you believe harmed you.
Have you heard the expression, “Fire in the heart sends smoke into the head”?
When you keep hatred inside of your heart, the only person that gets hurt is yourself.
In regards to all of that bitterness you’ve been hanging onto to, I encourage you to let it go and release it forever.
You will feel so much relief, and you will naturally feel better about yourself and about the world around.
2. Be Grateful For Your Blessings
Human beings are an irrational species to say the least. We are extremely driven towards success, then once we get it, we don’t even appreciate it any more.
You have so many things to be grateful for in your life that you are not feeling enough gratitude for. You should incorporate gratitude into your life in a big way. Really appreciate all of your blessings from the universe.
Notice all of the beauty in everything. See the best in others and in yourself. Pay more attention to what excites you and makes you feel fascination and great interest. Focus your energy on these types of things.
Enjoy your work and your co workers, be grateful for your warm bed that you get to sleep comfortably in every night. Enjoy your family and be appreciative of their company.
Take a look at what makes you happy and do more of it.
3. Think Like a Winner
No matter how horrible your mistakes of the past, and how bad your failures. It doesn’t define you.
A good quote I like is – “Do not let an old flame burn you twice” .
Another good quote is from Carl Jung who said “I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become”.
This is exactly the case for you. You can become anything you want if you think the same thoughts as the people you want to be like. Eventually you will become just like them. Hard work will still be a requirement of course.
The rewards are worth it.
4. Remind Yourself That You Are Incredible
Focusing your energy on the failures of your past can damage your self-esteem, your self-confidence, and your happiness.
The opposite is also true. When you focus your energy on past successes, of which you have many, you increase your self-esteem and your self-confidence.
5. Celebrate Your Past Successes
Place some value on your past successes and make a list of all the winning you have done in the past.
They were all big victories at the time.
Accept your worth and value. You are important to the world, and you are exactly who you are supposed to be.
Stop doubting that you are not good enough to be having the success you desire, because I know that you are good enough, whoever you are reading this.
