Hi, planet Earth and humanity’s existence in the Universe both suggest the possibility of an intelligent creator.
Earth exists due to an incredible set of conditions that permit us to live, and in such a manner which is unique to any other planet.
Let’s be honest, we are living in a pretty lucky set of conditions. We inhabit a planet that is fortunate enough to have the perfect conditions for life to exist. For example:
- The earth is at just the right distance from the sun so that the temperature is comfortable to live in.
- There is plenty of water on earth, this is uncommon.
- Earth has the appropriate conditions and the right balance of everything that is required for life to exist.
- We have just the right amount of water for continents to exist.
- Life started from micro-organism’s which have evolved to brilliant and wonderful human beings.
Compared to the other planets that are out there in our universe, the differences are ginormous.
Earth is absurd and implausible; It is a statistical impossibility. A planet that is so susceptible to such intelligent life is incredibly rare indeed. Yet here you are reading this.
It is very rare for the evolution of life to become so remarkably smart. It is ridiculously absurd that so many conditions that are required to happen in the perfect placement in order for the earth to be created to give birth to intelligent and awesome humans.
The odds of humans existing are so small that it only makes sense to assume that it must not be a coincidence.
Let’s check this out some more, shall we?
1. What Settings Does Life Need To Exist?
There are billions of planets’ in our galaxy that would be capable of supporting life. There are plenty of planets’ out there that could support water as well.
The ingredients for stars and solar systems similar to ours are abundant. Scientists are finding potentially habitable planets’ all over the galaxy.
2. How Often Are These Settings Found In The Universe?
The Drake Equation is used to estimate how many intelligent civilizations there are in our galaxy.
Science is saying that there are 1 to 10 trillion planets’ in our galaxy that are orbiting stars.
From them, there are probably 50 billion planets’ that are able to have the following properties.
1. The terrain of the planet is supportive enough of life
2. The planets’ location provides a temperature setting that is accommodating enough for life to exist.
3. The proper amount of water on the surface.
This means that there are a minimum of 50 billion planets’ in our galaxy that potentially have life.
If you want to be incredibly pessimistic and say that it may only be 1 millionth the possibility of life, then that would mean that there are still 40,000 planets’ that would have the necessary conditions for intelligent life.
So the reality is, that there is an incredibly high chance that there is intelligent life in our galaxy, and all over our universe.
It is incredibly massive. The Sun (you know, that star that gives us heat?) is about 150 million kilometers away. Compared to the earth it is massive. It is like 1,300,000 earths combined. (size wise)
There are 100 billion stars just like the sun in our galaxy. There are hundreds of billions of galaxies in our universe, and there are infinite
universes. (According to scientific theory).
It is so incredible that it fills your mind with wonder.
3. What If They Can’t Talk To Us?
Imagine if we found a planet filled with a bunch of giraffes. That was all that was there.
How pumped would we be? We would want to go check it out for sure, and definitely take that planet over. But we wouldn’t be all that excited about the giraffes themselves.
We want to find intelligent life that is worth our time and energy. We want to be able to talk to them and we want to find an actual intelligent species that we can communicate and get along with.
In order for living beings like this to exist, they probably require billions of years of evolution. Not to mention the billions of years of proper temperature conditions, and plus a massive amount of luck.
So what are the odds of this?
Less then one in a million.
There are so many incredible and favorable factors that make human life possible that it is still incredibly rare for it to happen.
I would say that the odds of a species that evolved to be as intelligent and wonderful as humans being found in the universe is a 1 in a billion chance.
While the conditions for life may be present in the universe, the chances of life evolving to be as intelligent and amazing as humans beings is much smaller.
If you follow evolution, which is basically proven by science, it says that humans evolved from monkeys living in the forest until we gradually left the forest, in which we started to rely more and more on intelligence for survival.
One small invention led to another and through millions of years of evolution, you are miraculously reading this post right now.
What do you think about this?
Do you think that we are the most intelligent species in The Universe?
Do you think that we are alone in the universe?
I think the Earth currently has a favorable set of circumstances for human life to exist. The temperature is compatible, there is the perfect amount of water, and it is very a beautiful and remarkable planet.
The Universe is beautiful and breathtaking. Why is that?
Thanks for reading and I would love to hear your thoughts on this. What is your opinion on intelligent life forms (i.e.e aliens) being able to communicate with humans being out there in the Universe? Leave a comment below.
